edu 2.0 passes the 8000 member mark
In the last month, 1000 new members have joined edu 2.0, taking membership past the 8000 mark.
In addition:
- Each class now has a special announcements area
- There is now seamless forum/inbox integration
- You can see forum posts by user
- You can set the maximum number of submissions per assignment
- You can see a history of assignment submissions for each student
- Debates have been improved with arbitrary levels of comments
- Assignments are now easier to create and give
- You can now export teacher comments with the rest of the gradebook
- Classes can be saved into an archive area
- Teachers can see a list of all the assignments at a glance
- Ability to set a forum section to read-only for students
- Support for "mature" resources and privacy features to protect students
- Ability to add comments when taking attendance
- Ability to specify private, public or any when searching for classes
- Thousands of new educational resources have been added by our community
- 1,900+ classes are now under development by teachers in our community
- 2,600+ teachers are registered members of the site.
- 4,900+ students are enrolled in classes hosted on our site
- 170+ debates have been used in classes
- 1,200+ photos have been uploaded for user photo albums
- 190+ interest groups have been created and over 2,300 members have joined these groups.
- 170,000+ messages have been exchanged between our members
- 41,000+ chat messages have been sent on our chat system
- 10,000+ postings have been made to forums
- Hundreds of minor enhancements were made.
We're currently working on voice/audio, as well as a virtual world where students can learn in a fun and immersive environment.
